Eric Hozempa

Eric Hozempa brings to Richard Male & Associates (RMA) over 15 years of professional experience in the fields of fundraising, resource development, leadership, and strategic planning expertise. Eric has worked with a variety of small to large Colorado nonprofits that focus on volunteer management, health care, the environment, and arts and culture issues. His work experience includes: Program Manager for Metro Volunteers, Director of Development for Dental Aid, Development Director for Eco-Cycle, and Membership Manager for Rocky Mountain PBS, where he was charged with raising over $5.7M annually for the station’s annual giving program.

Eric has presented trainings to local and national groups on topics related to creating effective direct mail programs, database prospect research, and online fundraising strategies. Although his primary background is in fundraising, Eric also possesses detailed knowledge of volunteer management and database management topics. He has successfully developed empowered volunteer committee teams that accentuate nonprofits and has converted and/or developed fundraising databases for several organizations.

Eric is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable, and the National Committee on Planned Giving.

In addition to his work commitments, Eric is also heavily involved in the community. He is currently on the Boulder County CSU Master Gardening Advisory Board and is a contributing writer to local newspapers on gardening topics. Eric is currently helping organize the 13th Annual CANPO Fall Conference and has served as a volunteer or committee member with other organizations such as Directors of Volunteers in Agencies (DOVIA), Radio Reading Service of the Rockies, The Children’s Hospital (Courage Classic), the Longmont Human Relations Commission, and the PTO and Accountability teams at his children’s elementary school.

As an associate for Richard Male & Associates, Eric works with organizations to develop and enhance their fundraising programs through various tools including: direct mail, grants, Internet, special events, major gifts, planned giving, and corporate sponsorships. Effective fundraising entails creating a plan of action that best suits the needs and goals of an organization. Eric can help your organization build a diverse funding base that will help it carry out its mission and serve its constituency.

Eric earned his Bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Colorado and is working on completing his Masters in Business Administration from Regis University.

When not engaged in assisting nonprofits, Eric spends his time in his garden in Longmont, Colorado with his wife and two children.
