Mourene Tesler

For the past 20 + years Mourene has been a specialist in the field of non-profit management and funding, rehabilitation services and federal compliance and regulations. Mourene was the executive director of the Center on Deafness for 11 years, after serving for six years as a program specialist with the United States Department of Education as a national expert in state rehabilitation programs, independent living centers, client assistance programs, protection and advocacy of individual rights programs, and deaf issues.

Mourene has provided extensive professional technical assistance in all aspects of grant and program management and federal compliance for rehabilitation-related programs as well as the establishment of funding streams for direct clients services. She has personally been responsible for the oversight of over $20 million in Federal grant funds.

Her expertise and experience includes extensive grant proposal preparation and writing, both federal and private; assistance and negotiation between public and private agencies; resource development; federal and state regulations compliance; program development and innovation; and nonprofit board and organizational structure.
